Retreat Dates for 2008 – 2009
7th Grade To be Announced
This will be a day long retreat (8:00 – 3:00) held at Catholic Central. The theme is “Forming a Christian Community” and the goal will be to get the 7th graders to know one another better and to begin forming a community as the Class of 2013. The retreat is given by the Junior and Senior Peer Ministers.
8th Grade 4th Quarter; date not determined
The Retreat will take place some time after Confirmation and will be a further development on the theme of what it means to be a Catholic Christian. It is led by the 8th grade teachers and some of the Junior Peer Ministers.
9th Grade Thursday or Friday, Sept. 26 or 27
The Freshman will have a one day retreat held at St. Raphael’s Church. The theme deals with developing a positive self esteem. The retreat is led by the Junior and Senior Peer Ministers. Because of the size of the class, half will go on Thursday and half on Friday.
10th Grade Thursday or Friday, Oct. 23 or 24
The Sophomore Retreat is a one day retreat held at Camp Hugh Taylor Birch in Clifton The theme is our relationship with Jesus and what it means to live as a Christian. This retreat is led by the Senior Peer Ministers. Again, because of the size of the retreat, half of the class will go on Friday and half on Thursday.
11th Grade Mon. and Tues., March 23 and 24
Juniors attend a two-day, one-night retreat at Bergamo Retreat Center in Beavercreek. This retreat is led by Bergamo’s Youth Retreat Team and deals with relationships between the student, his or her friends, family and God.
Kairos Nov. 18-21 or March 17-20
Kairos is a four-day, three-night retreat that is held at the Jesuit Renewal Center in Milford. The retreat is directed by a Team of Senior Peer Ministers and Adults, most of whom are faculty members, although one or two may be CCHS alumni who were Kairos leaders during their senior year. More information on the Kairos retreat can be found at ________________. There will be two retreats this year and students will be asked to sign up for their preference. However, there is a maximum number of students that can go on each retreat, and we need to make room on the March retreat for at least ten juniors who will be training to be Kairos leaders next year.
